Plex has a good integrated feature to spare disk space : auto delete watched episodes (after one day or one week).
But actually, this feature is per serie, it means that you have to manually enable this feature for each of your serie. It’s ok when you have something like 10 series, but when you’ve 100…
This could be better if this feature was available for the whole library (or as bulk action, which could maybe be easier to implement).
I currently have a parents account and a children account. Do both accounts have to have the episode watched before it will delete?
Also, a default by library would be nice. My kids like to re-watch episodes of the shows they watch, so I’d like a different value for their tvshow library.
This would be great as a per library default. Not sure I would ever want it to be per server through.
Also, as @frayedknot was asking, when does the “scavenger?” routine delete the episode? After all accounts have marked it as watched or only after the admin?
I’m sad to see this is going on almost 2 years and still not implemented. I actually didn’t even know auto delete was a thing at all until a couple weeks ago and was very sad to see that I had to modify EVERY series independently to set it up and have to manually do the same for any new series that gets added.
As others have said, shouldn’t this just require editing some single database variable? It wouldn’t require any new coding. If the developers remain obstinate, does anyone else know how you’d start looking for where default options are stored on disk?
