Hi guys, I have installed PLEX on my NAS with OpenMediaVault
I would love to have plex organize my entire library. Like how itunes does for the music.
So for the telefilms I would love that it save my episode into
Series/season/XX - Name episode
Is it possible? Can it even organize external subtitles if I use them?
No, Plex doesn’t modify your files and folder structure, you can use other software for that before importing in Plex.
Can you suggest one of them please?
Look here:
thanks a lot!
It’s a pity that Plex staff doesn’t want to add this feature, it seems to me that is really requested!

It would be a nice feature, once you have your library matched you could ask plex to “apply” the changes in a standard naming format, like Mediamonkey does for music files. But it’s also a very dangerous feature, a risky feature: consider how many people already come to the forum saying that plex deleted/changed/moved their stuff, imagine what would happen IF plex COULD really do that ![]()
Why create something new, when there is other software out there to do it. Let the other software do it to its fullest (since it’s what they built it for) instead of cramming into Plex itself and have just another thing to maintain (and take their time away from features of actually playing/watching the media).

I can get your point, but I think that a lot of people think that PLEX really organize their library!
BTW I think that if people is used to things like mediamonkey, musicbee(I suggest yout to try it
),itunes, calibre, ecc. they would find easyer if plex could do the same
