...is there a way to queue up content for auto playback? On the Google TV app, I can select an entire TV show (or season) to queue up so that each episode plays automatically. Is there a way to do this in the XBOX One app?

Not yet. That type of functionality cannot work on a client until support for play queues has been implemented.
In the following thread Dom C has stated that one of the features coming is play queue support. So once that versions is released we will either have auto play functionality or it should be shortly after.
