@anon18523487 if the auto quality is not planned to be fixed soon. May I ask you to please take it out of the plex apps. Its quite a pain, to have an option in there that is broken, and telling all people not to use it, because its currently broken.
It works, just not with subtitles.

Sooo, I tested it yesterday in my new server, with the recent version, and it seems that now it works without stopping and loading for ever.
However what I found was that, for 4k movies it will just go up to 19mbps, no more higher bitrate or original quality, and for 1080, if I remember correctly it was under 10mbps.
Why it does not go to original quality without transcoding if it has the possibility to do so?
Can’t say. I would need a specific example. XML info for the video and logs from the client and server.
