Automatically save artwork to local file system

Currently the only way to prevent Plex from automatically changing artwork is to keep the files local.
However, it is a very tedious and time-consuming process to store files locally. It would be easier if you had an option to have Plex automatically store the files locally. Any changes made via the GUI could then cause local files to be overwritten.

There’s an existing feature suggestion discussing an option to backup/store selected posters / backdrops etc. alongside your media. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

Most Plex users, I think, choose the poster and artwork that is displayed. Sometimes that means finding correct images and uploading the file or URL. I would like the ability, on a library basis, to have Plex take the file that has been designated and place that in the appropriate folder and anmed so that Plex will find it as the image.
