AVI is transcoding, Direct Stream not working

Hi,

 

I have an AVI file without subtitles. It tries to transcode this on the AppleTV. I'm only using Direct Play/Stream so i can't play this AVI file. An AVI file could be used for direct play/stream right?

Anyone knows why this cannot be used for Direct Play/Stream?

Here are the formats supported by the ATV. AVI's can play directly but only M-JPEG video, which is not the above case.

The embedded video/audio codecs are important: MP4/MP3 codecs should not need a full transcode - "direct streaming" (i.e. only swapping the AVI container) should work fine on that file.

Yes, you are right, but it will need a remux from AVI to MP4 or M4V in order to be tested.
