Hello, I would like to report a bug in Plex HTPC concerning the fanart you should normally be able to see when choosing an episode after selecting a season. This artwork often disappears in my case, for some reason.
Here it shows:
off the top of my head I think there’s both season artwork and series artwork, while at the same time there’s cached versions of artwork. I would start by considering whether I’m using local artwork and how I told PMS about that artwork. I would probably restart the PMS server and have it refresh all Metadata for that series. I might force a different poster and see how that works, then try switching back.
Anyone else have ideas?
While you think about things, you might see if you can craft a set of reproducible steps to make the artwork disappear?
I’m not using local artwork, just the one offered by Plex.
Series artwork and season artwork? But when I pick something for a show on Plex desktop, it’s used for all views, show/season/episode. There’s no background to choose for a season.
I tried restarting everything, and refreshing the metadata, but it didn’t solve the problem.
Steps to reproduce: On Plex HTPC, select a show, then select a season. I can now see the info of the first episode I haven’t seen yet, with the background artwork for the show. This artwork is there for about one second and then disappears as the metadata for the episode is refreshed.
You might give Plex DBRepair a try. The delay and switching reminds of bloat that can be purged or optimized. Long shot, but something to do on a Sunday.
