Background Play / Keep Player Open (Android)

By far the biggest complaint I have and the #1 reason I don’t use Plex on Android on a daily basis is the fact that if I do literally anything other than just watch the video I’m kicked back to the video’s landing page. Which I then have to hope it remembered my place and picks up where I left off without too much buffering / loading.

Other players, such as MX Player let me enable background play so that the video doesn’t HAVE to stop every time I want to go check an email or check Google maps or something similar. It’s kinda of frustrating… Even if the video didn’t background play, but paused just paused and let me return directly into the player and pickup where I left off would be 1000x better than sending me back to the landing page…

I’d love background play like MX player. 9 times out of 10 when I’m actually using my phone to play media i’m either driving or cutting the grass. In both cases I’m using it solely for audio in place of music and have 0 need to see the video, let alone keep the screen turned on. It’s nice with other players like MX where you can have the audio going and still use your phone for like google maps as well.
