So I like to use background play a lot, but in the past, it won’t automatically play the next episode if the screen is off. I would like it to continue playing the next video in the playlist even if the screen is off
for what purpose would you want to play video content whilst the screen is off?

Basically be playing your favourite game atm (online grinding as an example) and on in the background could be a series you’ve watched previously and are happily rewatching/listening to while you game.
on the same device though? they are playing a game and playing a video (but not watching it) on the same device?
i am imaging playing a game on 1 device and having video playing on another device at the same time, but would find it a strange scenario to be doing both on the same device at the same time.

Do you mean because the tag only has android-mobile ? I don’t get the relevance regarding same device.
Regardless, playing something with a screen off, while it sounds odd I don’t think would be a super rare use case.
i reckon it probably would be quite a niche case, but as there is already a request that exists already the that can be voted on.
i’d rather they fixed the growing list of bugs before looking to add niche case requests like this.
