Backup on Raspberry Pi

Server Version#:4.49.2
Player Version#:N/A

I tried to set up a backup of my Plex Media Server running on a Raspberry Pi. I used rclone to copy all the music from the /home/pi/Music folder to OneDrive, then from the guide about backing up I copied some of the contents of /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server to the cloud also. I says some, I didn’t do logs, crash reports and similar. Some of it is seems to be symlinks…

However when I tried to restore the library was unreadable.

So what is the correct backup process?

Tom

No one got any guidance or input on how to perform a backup of the media server correctly?

OK ignoring the guide about backing up as it is… I went with the following:

rclone to copy what’s new/changed in the directory that contains the music files to OneDrive

stop PMS
tar the Library dir inside plexmediaserver directory
start PMS
rclone to copy the Library.tar file to OneDrive

all of this is in a bash script that is run by cron once a day
