Backup Plex Data Folder?

I’ve seen this asked before but I think I’m asking for something a bit more…

What I want is a way to backup every single thing Plex has (minus the actual media files) to include:

  1. Server Settings
  2. Location of media files
  3. The movie posters I’ve selected for them

I find myself reloading windows more than I would like and then getting Plex back up to standards takes a few days work with over 2,000 movies. I would like to be able to:

  1. Do a clean install of Windows.
  2. Install Plex Server
  3. Copy Data from a saved drive back to the appropriate folders
  4. Restart Plex in perfect configuration with all the files/posters, etc. as they should be

Why oh why do you need to reinstall Windows that often?

Tip: get a second hard drive or SSD and move the Plex data folder onto it.
Next time you want to reinstall Windows, unplug this special hard drive, install or refresh Windows, plug it back in, install Plex server, change the preference where Plex has to look for its data.
