I would like to set up Plex to drive a Sony AV amp (auto HDMI), or TV directly. I will need the setup to be able to access music and video on my Debian server currently running Kodi (xbmc)
I am able to screencast to the Linux server as well as access its media from Android. However the server is currently a DVI output, not HDMI so it cant drive the Sony AV center. Rather than buy an expensive graphics card for that server and write a custom bios, I was thinking a pi3, or the like, could network with the server to retrieve and/or stream. I will also need a wireless keyboard, and remote control via Android and IOs
Will there be cross functionality if both pieces were running Plex? If it can control my lighting, or multicast to my Sony projector that is a plus. Any layout or equipmet suggestions? Is a two server system better than one? Can Plex screencast my kodi server, or should I install Plex onto the debian server as well? It might be easier to custom build a pi3
