Currently in the market for a streaming device for a remote plex server in not in my home. The I just wanted to know opinions on what people prefer/used.
Main media that will be consumed is mainly Anime in HEVC/x265/x264/hi10 provided by .mkv files.
Just curious as to what people prefer overall.
Been seeing that a lot of the streaming devices tend not to play the original quality and sometimes force transcodes for no reason.

Unless you have high upload speeds, your remote streams will most likely be transcoded so original quality will not happen. Since your most likely be transcoding you can use a Fire TV or Roku. If you want the best then get a Nvidia Shield Pro.

I have no issues with my shield. There are a couple of GUI bugs I have found but over all it works great for me. But then I only use release versions not beta.
