Best solution for using Plex in Car

I have video screens in my headrests with HDMI inputs… I’m looking for the best solution for watching Plex in the car, while offline. So the client needs to be able to Sync. I was looking at RasPlex but it seems to be dead. What are my best solutions here?

I am using the plex client installed on an android head set. It works. But has one major flaw. The sync in plex is pretty bad. I mean… really bad. It syncs at 1-3Mbps then slows down then stops. I have to leave the accessory turned on in the garage (door closed) and fiddle with it to restart the sync again and again. I have successfully downloaded 40GB of music files and it sounds and looks great. Also updates work from google playstore so I have the hope that it will someday be fixed. I mean really fixed… not just bandaid on the issue. In the meantime sofar I am loving the graphics and text information on the bands. It’s really worth it. IF it will only not loose the sync (keeping fingers crossed) but for the last 5 days it has been filling up the SD card and sounding great.

Thanks, but I"m actually looking for something that won’t require changing the head unit. Something portable with an HDMI output that’s not as bulky as a laptop. A tablet would be good but they typically don’t have HDMI output right?

Maybe an android TV box?

Idieally it can be powered by microusb so you can use an USB car charger (best around 2 Amp).

Pair that with an 2.4 RF remote on usb for easy control?

Just an insight, I use this setup at home for movie viewing in the bedroom. But don’t see why it wouldn’t work in a car.

Best regards,
Wouter

Would a PC Stick work? https://m.windowscentral.com/best-stick-pcs

Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter or the ZIKO Adapter For Android will give you HDMI out of your Phone or Tablet
