I have quite a few album series’ that I would like to group together in Plex. Think things like Journeys By A DJ, or the Back To Mine series where each album is essentially a compilation.
With compilations I tend to use Album Artist to denote the Dj or curator and leave Track Artists for the track artist.
What’s the best idea for a series of these?
I am also interested in this for audiobook series. I remember someone wanted music collections, so he could group all the starwars soundtracks together.
I think there is a grouping id3 tag, but that would involve Plex supporting it.

So, I achieved what I wanted to achieve but the changes wouldn’t show up until I did a bit of a Plex dance. So perhaps that is the key. I just set the Album Artist of these three albums to be the same. Then I set individual Album names and track artists are all individual and unchecked “part of a compilation”
Once I removed them from the Plex library, scanned the folder, deleted the trash, re-added them to the Plex library and re-scanned it showed up as I wish.

Well gave that a test, and there is no way to browse by author with it set up like that
