I have been using a 4 bay media sonic external enclosure for awhile, it has worked ok. But is now starting to disconnect and reconnect frequently, causing transfer errors and playback errors.
I’m ready to move on to something else. I have 8 total drives (4 internal 4 external) right now, but need to add more to increase space. Where should I start looking? I literally only need an efficient way to house 10+ HDD. Is there a better “way” or product out there before getting into building a rack based server?
I don’t need any functionality of a nas, just a way to use a lot of hard drives. And would prefer to not have to use lots of single or dual enclosures. The mediasonic one I have is perfect, and wouldn’t mind upgrading to their 8bay. but the one I have is troublesome, and lots off people online saying they have the same issue, so I’m hesitant to stay with that company.
