No comment but looks like a new build was released today to address the issue.

There was a stable release, 5.9.3, is that the one you are referencing?
Yes but apparently it doesn’t fix the start up crash.
I am suspecting that they are not longer supporting older version of android this is just too many version that don’t work .
This one going to bite them in the ass as they don’t have any mentioned of this anywhere.
Frankly though it hasn’t worked correctly on older version in ages and they show next to no desire to fix those issues so i am guess i am not to surprised that they haven’t bothered to keep it going on older android versions.
When you look at requirements its says varies on device which is a half truth which they really need to change to reflect what actually works correctly.
Correction apparently the minimum is android 4.1 which you have to dig to find and this kind of ignores the fact it doesn’t work on 4.1 4.2 or 4.3 devices since April. at all and hasn’t worked fully on then in ages.
I think it would be best if they just officially dropped support of the older Android devices. It’s too much of a pain to keep the 4.xx line alive IMHO.
I would tend to agree except most tablets aren’t updated much so there quite a few out there stilling running some version of 4 .
That said they basically done little in the way of keeping support fully functioning on many tablets anyway.
Fortunately i only ever used it for casting anyway so i didn’t miss much.
Also checking reviews this failure on older 4 devices is casuing almost as many bad reviews as good ones so it seems quite a few people do the same.
If your tablet is running 4.4.2, the fix in 5.9.3 won’t help. That was for a specific crash on 4.2 and earlier. Your’s must be for a different reason. If you can provide me the logcat from your device when the app crashes, we can look into it.

Thanks for the report. I’m able to reproduce.
Actually no the 5.9.3 was to fix crashes on 4.3 android not earlier versions unless someone made a mistake on the announcement which is entirely possible.
The 5.10.0.132 update to day does work again and the browsing to movies no longer causes a crash.
Playback is at best hit and miss but that’s normal on the older android versions for some time now.
