I appreciate that this beta moved away from the cloudy orange/grey background we had before, but the switch to blue isn’t an improvement. Plex for Apple TV runs on TVs that often are in dark rooms, the blue light spectrum shouldn’t be used to this degree. It messes with your eyes, especially when then viewing dark content.
Could we get a “true black” option? Or just a color picker so you satisfy more people?
If I watched Plex in a brightly lit room this would look amazing. I suspect it looks amazing in the brightly lit Plex offices. For dark rooms a non-blue, preferable black version would be better for everyone’s eyes and viewing pleasure.
Edit - It appears I was encountering a bug that was fixed with an Apple TV restart. The new behavior seems to begin with blue and then change based on the poster. Mine was getting stuck on the starting blue.
I’d still like the option to select a black background. You still run into the issue with large screens of eye-unfriendly colours. I know this is the first beta, but the performance on the 1080p Apple TV is less than ideal. Scrolling stutters with any movement of more than two spaces at a time. Allowing a choice for a black background would help with their performance issue.
