+1 would like to create and share playlists
+1 I, like many others, was surprised that you couldn’t share playlists - please add this! I wanted to set up a playlist for Christmas movies, ended up just creating a separate library instead. Thank you!
Yes! Want feature
This should have been there from the start…
Please Plex… add the feature… it is not only for music and movies, but i may want to add som pictures to a playlist and share with family…
I was just about to post this…and found this one…yes, please let us SHARE play lists… I have done some serious work on playlists for HUGE shows… CORRECT viewing order of Star Trek (ALL including animated)… Stargate (all)… and a couple others…
+1 for playlist sharing feature
+1. Playlist sharing would easily allow me to share themed playlists with my other users.
Lifetime Plex Pass member here. Being able to share playlists would be an incredible function. Not only would I be able to create recommended content to my users, but I would have more control over setting up the order in which items are played.I have 15 users and over 2,500 movies as well as 200 unique TV Shows with over 17,000 episodes. Add to that 3,000 complete music albums and tons of pictures and home videos. It’s very easy to get lost and this would greatly help organization. I do use collections, but some things, like ordering the Star Wars collection the way I want, doesn’t work to well.
Oh yes! I absolutely want this!
This really is a feature that’d make my(and my users’) Plex experience even better.
So obviously +1.
Well the problem is that this request, like many others, makes too much sense.
Wow… It even is in line with the Core functionality of a media server/player!!
For those 2 reasons… This will probably NEVER get done…
Heck. This request is coming up on it’s 3rd Anniversary in April.
Does anyone really remember requesting some of the really wacky things Plex has implemented but never works???
Yes, pleas!

This.
It’s hilarious to search for “Star Wars” and getting 5 out of 7 movies back because 2 of them are not referencing the term “Star Wars” anywhere, and there is no Plex feature to set a serverwide meta information that is included in serverwide user searches.
Please guys, this is an essential media server functionality.
+1 for shared playlists.

You just have to manually edit the metadata on each incorrect/wonky star wars movie. Stupid that you have to but it definitely works.

I tried that, but it has no effect on the search results of other users on the server. Which makes it pretty useless.

That’s not true at all - you must be doing it incorrectly.
All my users - managed and unmanaged - can search ‘star wars’ and get all 7 currently released titles in the search results.

Could you please try to explain what exactly you did to achieve that? I have tried several times with many different tags and values - without success. Thank you very much in advance. ![]()

Just this:

Do that for each one. I also removed the Episode I, II etc.
Ah ok, I see. You directly changed the movie title. I tried secondary tags only because I wasn’t sure if changing the title has a negative impact on the automatic data retrieval of the metadata agents. Also I’d like to keep the original movie title for display.
