Block an ip

With the new stuff in the update can you block a certain IP address. I share my library with several people but they have taken upon them selfs to share there info with others. So sometimes the same person will be watching 2-3 things at same time. Can you block a certain IP address?

For those who have shared your info with others, do what we all do… unshare and kick them out.

If you go to Plex.tv, change your password and, while doing so , ‘disconnect all connected devices’, they are gone and quite harshly too.

You will have to to back to your server and sign into your account with the new password and establish the remote connection again.

Doing the above generates all new tokens.

Sorry I meant they share their info so when I share with one person it’s like sharing with 2-3 people. With plexpy it tells you what IP address they are using, so I was hoping to try and block certain up addresses. I have one person that him and his girlfriend and I think his girlfriend gave there info to her mom. I haven’t told them I can see what they are watching cause I don’t want them to think I’m spying so I didn’t want to say hey stop giving to your mom

Think about it for a moment. If you block an IP, all it takes to circumvent your action is to reset the modem / restart the tablet or phone. Quite pointless.

If it’s your media, your equipment, and it’s being shared/shown to someone without your permission, it’s your right to keep tabs on what’s happening and stop unauthorized usage.

If your employer says “This site won’t be allowed at work… Period” and blocks it, how did they know it was being accessed in the first place? Hmm?

I’ve been in this situation and all I did was call the person, say “Hey, it looks like someone else may have been using your Plex account to access my server. You should change your password because until this is resolved I am going to have to stop sharing with your account. Thanks!”
