I would like to add a feature where when watching my videos, I can click a button and “Mark” the start of the clip…then click again to “Mark” the end of the clip where the system will then ask me for a title…I can name and save it and it will go to my “Clips” section…this way, I watch videos and see all these great scenes / times that I may want to recall, I can quickly just open / play the clips. The system should know what video the clip came from and simply play the start / stop points set by the clip…
10 years later. Insane that Plex cares so little about us that it can’t add such a critical feature.
Marking songs and famous scenes seems like a core feature for a media library,
I would love Plex to support this. I started maintaining a list of interesting timestamps across all my watched shows in plain text but this obviously wasn’t scalable for me.
Keep the love going.
I’d even up-ante by making a timestamp definable range for videos in a playlist. (I mean, it’s not like playlists are copies of the video file itself or anything.) This would make custom montage compilations possible. (who wouldn’t want a custom Star Wars hand chopped off montage or a 2 hour long Wilhelm scream montage, without needing to suckle at the teat of the Evil Lord Youtube!)
