BoxSet artwork

Some of these have one image for the overall BoxSet and also a different image for each disc. How can I enable Plex to display these appropriately - without embedding the images in each music file.

Currently iTunes cannot deal with this, but since Plex can make use of artwork images stored in the album folder, it ought to be possible to have it display individual artwork for each disc.

Is there a suitable naming scheme that will work for this? All the tracks will be in one folder as that’s how iTunes structures it, but I could instead distribute them into a sub-folder for each disc, if absolutely necessary as I don’t really want to do that and anyway, I’ve not read anything that implies Plex can deal with this additional folder level.

Can I name the images e.g. “cover disc 1.jpg”, of just “cover1.jpg, cover2.jpg” etc? is there a naming protocol that will enable Plex to do this?

Unfortunately, box sets of any kind are not supported in Plex.

You can have a multi-disc music album, but the discs will just have a number, no individual title or artwork.

That’s a shame. I’ll suggest it as a new feature. Easy to implement. Just look for e.g. cover-1.jpg, or cover_2.jpg or just cover3.jpg to suit the disc number and use cover.jpg as the default if nothing else is found. I’m kinda surprised it doesn’t have this already as it’s so simple and wouldn’t impact on anyone not wishing to take advantage of it.
