Bring back "Show Lyrics" button when playing Music

Please bring back the “Show Lyrics” button when playing music on Plex for Apple TV.

This feature was available in the previous version of the Apple TV app, but it is no longer available with the "New Experience” interface (version 2026.18.0).

Plex on Apple TV still supports music playback, so removing the ability to display lyrics feels like a regression.

This is even more important because Plexamp is not available on Apple TV. The regular Plex app is therefore the only real option for listening to a Plex music library on tvOS.

If Plex continues to support music playback on Apple TV, it should also keep the basic music features that were previously available, including the ability to display lyrics.

Please bring back the “Show Lyrics” button in the New Experience.

Plexamp Updates and Caldera Music

Hello everyone It’s been a while, but I wanted to let you know that Plexamp development is still very much alive. It’s been quiet for a few reasons, one being that as of 2026 I’m no longer with Plex (as most of you know). But Plexamp has been a labor of love since the start, and that hasn’t changed. Yes, and it’s great to see that development on Plexamp has picked up again

Plexamp is by far the best app for music in the Plex ecosystem, and I keep an eye on the new features and install the new versions almost every day.

So hopefully Plexamp will come to Apple TV soon.

That said, I still think the “Show Lyrics” button should be brought back to the regular Plex app on Apple TV, since it was available in the previous version and disappeared with the New Experience.

That being said… there’s currently also no lyrics option in the Caldera tvOS app. My bad for mixing this up.

Caldera on tvOS has no lyrics option, and does not have any options for queuing up songs. It’s also very buggy at the moment. The top menu disappears. The back button has unexpected behaviors. Songs sometimes hitch if switching menus.

I’m sure you’ll get it there soon, but it isn’t quite there yet.

I’m really excited for it though!

Hmm I haven’t seen those menu/back button issues here, what version of hardware?

It is the 2nd gen Apple TV 4k.

I’ve only just started using Caldera today, so I’m not sure about repeatability.
