@copytco said: @sa2000, indeed putting IP on the list worked. There is another issue - videos are played with a different framerate than on web player or OpenPHT - any way to fix it? I see it, since I have .sub subtitles which are based on frames. My TV is LG 42LA620S.
Unrelated and in any case not DLNA
Why unrelated? DLNA has different framerate and any other app has different (but consistent) framerate.
Sorry I mis-read your post
But if it is an LG TV, then it is probably through LG Medialink or LG Smartshare, which from what I have seen, is not DLNA
In any case if there is an issue that can be easily reproduced please get debug logging from Plex Media Server playing the same media file on the web client and separately on LG TV and provide the logs, indication of times of the tests, which media file and media info text and media info xml
Why unrelated? DLNA has different framerate and any other app has different (but consistent) framerate.
Unless falling back to 1.1.4 fixes this issue, itās likely unrelated. Please see the history of this thread, which revolves around a regression bug after 1.1.4:
DLNA not showing content that had to be transcoded at all, which was fixed in most recent release
After #1 was fixed, plex still canāt play the content that has to be transcoded
Iād like to make sure that this thread continues to emphasize the regression bug, which affects many people. For other DLNA related issues, Iād recommend creating a new thread.
@sa2000 : thank you for continued assistance. Do you happen to know whatās the current state of affairs regarding this problem?

I have no update to give you. It has been registered. DLNA is not core functionality and furthermore the impact is only to a subset of DLNA users - Sony TV and BluRay users with models pre 2014 (I believe), so it is not at the top of the priority list and I am passing all the feedback to the development team
My concern at this point is that the more time passes by without active engagement of the developers, the less likely weāll ever see a fix. This isnāt a problem with a new feature, itās a regression bug that affects functionality that was present for years. The more code keeps getting added/changed since 1.1.4, the less chance of finding the culprit.
As to the impact, Iām now interested in finding other DLNA clients that would require transcoding. Iām suspecting that Sony devices may not be the only ones affected, they just happen to have least natively supported formats.
How do we get more attention from the developers or higher ups? @elan or @rcombs perhaps? Is there an internal ticket number?
FWIW I am having the issue with a Sony device, but the videos I am trying to play to not require transcoding, just remuxing, and that is not working either in anything newer than 1.1.4. I have uncompressed Blu-ray rips stored as MKV files, and Plex remuxes them to M2TS to stream to the Blu-ray player⦠I have the DLNA client profile set up so that no transcoding will be done.

Quite a few PS3 owners out there too. It will be a sad day if Plex developers give up on DLNA as itās often superior to using the App.
I decided to try out 1.4.0 preview. Parts are fixed, parts arenāt. It seems to actually play media that 1.2.x-1.3.x wouldnāt, when it actually plays them. Itās still buggy: sometimes the same media will play, sometimes it wonāt. Sometimes there will be no video, or sometimes the playback will stop suddenly.
Iām also a Sony owner and have the same problem
I managed to watch 2-3 movies like this: start the movie which have to be transcoded and immediately start fast forward for about 20-30sec. And this doesnāt stop transcoding process, otherwise in debug message it says that client (TV) stops the connection?!
I too have DLNA issues on Sony 2012 Bravia (HX850) and Blu-ray (BX520) Models since 1.1.4. When will the Plex Dev Team finally nail this bugā¦was looking promising with version 1.3.3 where video titles display but donāt play.
I“m also having problems with PMS server in regards of DLNA⦠funny thing is: the Plex server under Windows10 (latest release) is working flawlessly and showing the known Plex folder structure and media files for example in KODI (UPNP section):
while the same server on Linux (raspberry pi) does not show any files, only these 3 directories with no content:
