Buffer load with 4K HDR

buffer load with 4K HDR movies on LG 65" OLED 4K HDR on cable Rj45 cat 6
internet speed 1000mbs / 500mbs

movie at 50GB

classic questions…

  • subtitles?
  • what kind of audio stream?

(those are aiming at verifying if your server might be too weak to transcode the 4K material or if your network is to blame)

to dig a little deeper into that…

  • do you play that video from within your home network (same as the TV) or a remote server?
  • any what’s the max bitrate supported by your TV network port? these days those tend to be the weak link when it comes to your home network…

LG TV, like most TVs, only have a 100Mbps ethernet. Try to go Wi-Fi, it works flawlessly for me (300mbps via fast.com)

if i stream from windows 10 to LG TV
with media sharing, there is nothing wrong
then it works fine

it is only PLEX error

Mmmh weird, is your server transcoding or is the file direct playing ?

direct playing

Okay well. I had the exact same issue with my B8. No one as succeeded giving me an explanation of why it was happening. And then everything worked when I switched to Wi-Fi.

Give it a try.
