Buffering for exactly 1 minute playing back locally after getting "This server is not powerful enough to convert video" New Server Windows PC

Edit: Pulling thread / will try to address locally. Thanks everyone.

Just spit balling what the issue could be…

What kind of internet connection do you have? What happens if you play this locally on the server itself? Do you notice the same 1 minute delay? 90MBPS seems high (probably not for 4k), just curious.

Hey TowerRH… well this is purely inside my home network, but to answer your question, I have HFC Cable Internet 1Gig down / 50 Up …but again not sure if that makes a difference as this is only inside my own house (unless there’s some odd tunneling out to the internet and back into my home in the next room that Plex needs)?

I’ll try playing on the server console itself and see if I get any similar “buffering” , honestly only ever tried on clients around my house (AppleTVs mostly but Apple TV 4k 2021 are my daily drivers, everything else is just to “Play around” with)…

Ok totally honest I’ve never really tried playing any movies inside the browser server window… but I don’t think its a good apples to apples comparison as it keeps converting down to 1080p from 4k and choosing quality, I don’t have an option for direct play (taxing the processor at about 30-40% utilization in the process… lots of hiccups in the playback).

Replying off myself, I just upgraded to Windows 11 and no change, still getting random 1 minute long buffering periods with no explanation as to why (as there is no PC load I can find that would trigger the event…all hardware is fast enough including network).

Any other thoughts community? Happy to gather more logs if it’d help but my first post did have some.

Thanks!
