I’m having an issue with the UWP app where high-bitrate transcodes are heavily buffering during playback (app says there is not enough bandwidth, but there is tons of bandwidth).
Here is the testing I did. All logs attached.
- Start Plex Server
- Start Plex UWP Client
- Start playback a Blu-Ray rip (media info attached)
Notice buffering in the first 10 seconds. I was watching the resource monitor on the server at the time. The transcoding process never exceeded 10% cpu usage (the server is an i7 Windows Server with a passmark score of 8900). The UWP client suggested I didn’t have enough bandwidth (server is on a 1Gbps/1Gbps fiber connection, client is on a wired 500MBps connection).
To confirm the issue was not bandwidth related, I next started Plex Media Player on the same PC that the UWP app was running on, and played the same content as DirectPlay (approximately 35Mbps x264+DDAtmos), no buffering issues at all. This should be captured in the attached server log as well.
Any ideas what is going wrong here?
Thanks!!
