For some reason it looks like the android app thinks your tv is only 1080p
It’s transcoding everything 4k. HDR, SDR, h.264 or h.265. I have to assume if it were a codec or format issue one of those would play ok
Verify under the advanced display settings inside the Google TV app that you have 4k selected

Sony TV running on google TV doesnt have this option.
Youtube, jellyfin etc are playing in 4k perfectly
This is clearly a bug in Plex. There are many other Sony TV(different models) users who are reporring the same issue.
In which file did you find these?
I have changed some settings, regenerated the logs, want to check if these are still showing in logs

Basically plex app on Sony TV is not detecting the correct resolution. I wonder why Sony Bravia TV is running on official GOOGLE TV version 11

I installed Google TV on Windows just to play around with it like 8 months ago. I’m almost sure it was already on 13
Yes five days ago.
I have also “Chromecast with Google TV” which is running on Android 12.
And the Sony TV is running on Android 11.
Android 13 is not available on any device yet.
How to contact developers ? I dont think they are bothered to fix this bug.
For those who are looking for a solution (till the developers fix this bug).
Play your 4K video and follow the below steps while the movie is playing(and is being transcoded).
Go to playback settings and select “Convert automatically”(the movie will be trancoded).
Go again to playback settings and select “Play original quality”.
Now the movie will play directly without the need to be trancoded.
This is just a temporary way out. The developers need to fix this.

I have made the shift to jellyfin. Its much better than the buggy plex
Again an update but no bugs related to Sony TV has been fixed so far. What a shame @PlexAndroidReleaser @ManuelPG @brdunn3700 @elan
