With the move of the navigation bar from the bottom of the app to the old style server library menu the podcast library is no where to be found. I’ve tried logging out and back in to see if that was the issue but that didn’t help. I’ve search through the options menus to see if I was missing something but I can’t find anything to enable it.
If it wasn’t pinned automatically, it should show at the bottom of the “More” menu under the “Plex” heading.
Perhaps try killing and restarting the app?
We’ll investigate why it isn’t showing up consistently.
Just to add, I had similar problems during 7.24 betas. One beta it would be there, the next it would not be there or I couldn’t select the pinned menu item. Currently on the 7.25 betas it is there for the moment.
I tried killing the app and even logging out of the app completely and back in and nothing. Now I don’t know if this matters but I didn’t have the Podcast option enabled on the server in the past. I only recently enabled it. I added some podcasts and can play them on a web browser but the option in the app doesn’t show. I even went through all the options and the menus. Since Online Media Sources is a global setting I figured that since only my servers show up in the list when I select more I figured it wasn’t showing for me.
Can you please private message me some logs right after the app has started?
I sent the logs, can you confirm that you were able to open the file?
Yeap, thanks for the logs!
The latest beta version has a significant performance boost for server discovery which should resolve this issue, would love to get your feedback on whether it is now working a better?
So I tried and it didn’t show. I then logged out, force stopped, cleared cache then tried logging in and that still didn’t help. So I went the nuclear route and did all that and then uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Logged in and still nothing. Selected more and there it was. I was able to pin it and play a podcast I had added via the web interface.
Sadly I am shooting myself because I did not enable logging for the initial tries which might have helped troubleshoot why it took and complete reinstall of the app to work. In the future I will do that. I consider the bug closed at this time.
I’ll do some tests upgrading and see if I can reproduce the issue. Thanks for your help trying to diagnose the issue!
