- Same problem exists also with Plex app for Firestick
Problem : Playing EAC-3 ATMOS music files with Plex does pass through ATMOS information to an ATMOS receiver or ATMOS soundbar. To clarify these are lossy EAC-3 “audio only” music files that have ATMOS information (Note - Works fine with Emby). See below for MediaInfo of a sample Dolby ATMOS music file :

Problem continued : *NOTE - These same ATMOS music files play fine with ATMOS using Emby so we know it’s a Plex bug. Plex Dashboard says these files are DirectPlaying but since it’s not showing up as ATMOS to the receiver or soundbar we know that’s not true. Do you need a copy of this ATMOS music file for troubleshooting purposes? What other info do you need?
NOTE - Video files with an EAC3 Atmos audio soundtrack play fine. It’s just “AUDIO ONLY” EAC3 with ATMOS that don’t.
