I wish to create an Advanced Filter for all films released in a certain year range + having bitrate below a certain bitrate. This is not possible, because bitrate is not supported as an advanced filter. I have to assume bitrate is pre-computed given how fast Sort by Bitrate is on even large libraries. As a result, I see no technical reason why bitrate could not be exposed as an advanced filter.
That’s not a bug, that’s a missing feature.
I guess strictly speaking you’re right. I had assumed that all the exposed sort by metadata were just basic db fields and the absence of Bitrate on the list was a bug (e.g. that the same set of fields were not exposed for two different API paths in the client). I wasn’t thinking of it in terms of having to build any new feature, like I’m not requesting custom fields for advanced filter. But to the extent it would be more likely to be fixed if it was characterized as a feature request rather than a bug, happy to have you rename the thread.
This feature request already exists. Filter movies by bitrate
