Still the same problem. How many others have the same issue? Any eta on a fix? Do you need any other info to recreate the issue?
Same problem here…
Same here. Be wonderful if Plex engineers actually had a look
Yep, also in the same boat as the rest of you, thought it was an issue with the files in the folders but could confirm Plex shows multiple duplicates of a single image file.
Updated to the latest firmware and still the same issue
@justinaphi, can you please share an update If a fix will be available anytime soon for this bug?
It seems we’re all having the same issue but I wanted to provide an update either way. It seems we’re all experiencing it regardless of server OS so at least it should be solved for everyone once the team rolls out a fix. It’s still an issue in iOS 15 and tvOS 15 but as others have mentioned, it seems to get worse over time as the duplicates start building up. It’s come to the point that the photos library is almost unusable. Deleting the library and adding it again seems to temporarily fix the issue but the duplicates will start building up again over time.
Since my post, I had to delete my Plex docker container on Unraid for a different issue but the problem persists. Just mentioning to save others the time in case they’d like to troubleshoot. I’ve switched to a different self-hosted platform for photos for the time being as it’s been almost a year and there have been no updates from the team. @justinaphi I’d love to provide logs or any other info that could help the engineering team so please let us know if those would help.
Do we know if this is even on the developer’s radar?
Same issue here and came across this thread. Plex dev’s really don’t like the Photos section of their app do they? So many unresolved problems with Photos over the years that never get addressed. At least we get free B movies from the 80’s though?
Same issue. Any news from Plex ?
Months without word from the devs. Is this being looked in to?
Nothing yet??? Makes an otherwise great feature completely unusable - I have literally dozens of duplicates in my timeline
I am also having this issue and it is fairly significant and riving me crazy. PLEASE FIX IT
I can confirm this issue with iOS, iPadOS and tvOS. This has been a long-standing problem for at least a year now, if not two. It’s a little surprising that the Plex team has not fixed this. It makes the photo timeline virtually unusable. That and no metadata searching capability has made Plex a bit of a disappointment for me.
Same here. This has been broken for far too long. Let’s hope it gets fixed ASAP.
So, how’s the solution progressing along? This bug is essentially breaking the timeline view, that’s very unfortunate I have to say.
Yes, I thought the recent PMS update was going to address this, but sadly no. Still broken and so photos are basically completely broken for me.
Same here, would highly appreciate a fix for that!
Same issue for last two years. Windows web app OK, although dates are off from iOS to WIN images. Can’t find images on the same date.
I have found a solution for this problem, finally. Don’t know if this is now fixed in current versions but…select ANALYZE on the photo library, let it run. If you have a large library, may take a bit of time but this has resolved all my duplicates.
Just did this… thought it was fixed, but no. Still getting duplicate photos on iOS. Seems to be Ok on MacOS though.
