[BUG] Latest beta (8.10.0.21667-beta) crashes Amazon Fire HD 10

Installed 8.10.0.21667-beta on three devices (Samsung Tab A, Moto G5+, Fire HD 10). Loads fine on Samsung Tab A and Moto G5+, but causes crashes on the Fire HD 10 every time. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. It will sometimes load the “Plex” animation (but it is not centered like before, it’s closer to the top of the screen) and then it will dump to the home screen. Sometimes it will start the spinning wheel like it’s loading, then just freeze, forcing me to close it out. If I roll the Fire HD 10 back to version 8.9.2.21619, it works just fine.

I’ve tried both Google Play and Amazon App Store version of the latest beta on the Fire HD 10 and it has the same behavior: crashes or freezes every time I try to load the app until I revert back to the previous version.

I cannot attach logs because I cannot get into the app to pull them. If there’s another way to pull them, please let me know and I will attach.

Did you try the Fire OS version? Fire HD 10’s run Fire OS.

Yes, I tried the Fire OS version. That’s what I meant by trying the Amazon App Store version, but I guess that wasn’t necessarily a given. But I’ve always used the Google Play version in the past and never had problems. Something is up.

The Fire OS and Amazon App Store versions are different. The Amazon App Store is for regular Android devices that just use the Amazon App Store instead of Google Play. The Fire OS version is specifically for devices that run Amazon’s Fire OS (Fire TV and Fire tablets). Just checking that you really are using the correct one.

Yup. That’s the one. I realized after you posted that you’re right, it’s not automatically Amazon App = Fire OS, but that is definitely the version I downloaded and it too is borked, just like the Play version.

My old LG G Pad X 8.0 also works fine, so of four devices, only my Fire HD 10 is messed up, with both Play and Fire OS versions of the latest beta.

I am able to reproduce. We are working on a fix.

Thanks for the report, it should be fixed in the latest beta.

It does appear to work again in 8.10.0.21743-beta. Thanks for fixing it so quickly.
