Bug? 'match' only shows up after i click 'edit'

When adding new shows, i have to click the “edit” icon, cancel it without having done anything, and then I can click match.

Secondly, plex doesn’t seem to understand that ‘S##’ is a season indicator.
youtube screencap of the issue

Thanks for reporting this, we were able to reproduce and we believe its related to a pms issue that’s under investigation.

I can’t provide much Information as too when this will be fixed but the devs are working on it.

May I see your DEBUG-enabled Logfiles (ZIP) - settings - server - help - download logs, captured after you’ve scanned and attempted the match

and may I also see the file names & structure , as you have then, with extension ?

From your video, it appears your naming is not correct.

Paradox - SxxExx - optional title.ext is for series.

I am curious why you’re matching from TMDB and not TVDB ?

I missed that part actually, my comment is referring to “match” not showing.

Thanks for noticing @ChuckPa.

@iNVERTEDpLAZMA1 if you can answer those question it would help understand the second problem.

Below is an example of many of my folders.

The.Affair.S02.HDTV.x264
The.Affair.S03.720p.HDTV.x264
The.Blacklist.Redemption.S01.720p.HDTV.x264
The.Blacklist.S04.720p.HDTV.x264
The.Carbonaro.Effect.S01.HDTV.x264
The.Casual.Vacancy.S01.HDTV.x264
The.Durrells.S01.HDTV.x264
The.Durrells.S02.HDTV.x264
The.End.Of.The.■■■■■■■.World.S01.720p.WEB.x264
The.Flash.2014.S02.720p.HDTV.x264
The.Flash.2014.S03.720p.HDTV.x264
The.Flash.2014.S04.720p.HDTV.x264
The.Frankenstein.Chronicles.S01.720p.HDTV.x264-TLA

and then for example, the filename structure inside the folder:
Rick.and.Morty.S01E01.720p.HDTV.x264.mkv
Rick.and.Morty.S01E02.720p.HDTV.x264.mkv
Rick.and.Morty.S01E03.720p.HDTV.x264.mkv

I’ll get this in the next post. working on that now.

There’s been a few cases where the tvdb didn’t find the show info but then tmdb did.
I’ve flipped it back and forth between the two and the matching doesn’t change for either in regards to the folder having the season number.

Thank you for that filename information.

I can already tell you why PMS can’t match your files. You have removed ALL the spaces. You intended to have period (.) be the delimiter but you’ve used it as the space. Because of this, PMS will not see ANY delimiters. “The Flash” has become the series “The”. This will never match.

Observe:

The.Flash.2014.S02.720p.HDTV.x264

Is seen as:

The Flash 2014 S02 720p HDTV.x264

That is utter and total non-matchable nonsense to the regular expression trying to parse it.

Here’s why:

  1. Correct Series structure:
The Flash (2014)/
  Season 02/
    The Flash.S02Exx.Optional title here.ext

  Season 03/
  Season 04/

I respecfully suggest you take the time and invest the few $$ in a tool such as FileBot. It will rid you of ALL these problems.

It does this because:

  1. It takes the name you’ve given it
  2. Parses it in a different way than Plex.
  3. Groups all the files together as a block
  4. Presents a list to you to confirm is correct (PMS cannot do this because it’s a server )
  5. Applies the new, verified names, to the files
  6. If you have specified a new structure to put the file(s) in, it will move them for you, renaming as it does

Example:

  1. Drop file: “The Flash.4x10.blah.blah.blah.mkv” into filebot’s input pane
  2. Define renaming rule (saved in Filebot) to be : /nas/tv/{n}/Season {s}/{n}.{s00e00}.{t}
  3. Click “Lookup”
  4. Observe proposed new names & structure in right pane `/nas/tv/The Flash (2014)/Season 4/The Flash (2014).S04E10.The Trial of The Flash.mkv
  5. When you click “Rename”, It will verify the directories exist then rename and move the file(s)

In this case, using a mix of standard Plex naming rules, I have the following, all of which works without issue.

[chuck@lizum The Flash (2014).147]$ ls -1

ahh, i understand. i can make that work. Thanks!
Also, i set it back to a default of tvdb, things seem to be working well with that, along with a couple folders i’ve tested in the way suggested.
