Setup:
I have a Windows 11 PC with three external 4K monitors,
- Landscape orientation, scaled to 125%
- Landscape orientation, scaled to 125%
- Portrait orientation, scaled to 175%
Behavior:
When I start Plex player, it opens on monitor 1. The UI looks to be scaled up lots, anchored by the bottom left corner, with the user profiles barely still within the window. This remains true if I set the window to full screen, but even ore so, meaning the scaling seems to be even more relative to the full screen, such that the user selection tiles are even further off screen towards to the top right. A weird thing is that this scaling seems to at least be not as bad (it might not be happening at all) in terms of click targets. When I mouse over approximately where I expect the user profile tiles, etc. to be, the mouseover light-up effect happens on the scaled up and out-of-position tiles.
Some version of this problem seems to still be there if I drag the window from the 125% scaled monitor to the 175% scaled monitor, though in that case, the UI seems scaled too small for the click locations.
I had player version Plex-1.102.0.230-7301ebfb-x86_64 installed on 11/5. It was working fine. I first noticed this problem a few days ago. I’ve installed some software in the time in between, and most recently before I noticed it, I think, I’d installed Blizzard’s Battle.net app and a bunch of their games: Diablo 4, Diablo 3, WarCraft remastered 1 through 3.
I’m seeing this Plex player behavior both with Diablo 4 active and not, both with the Battle.net application active and not.
I installed Plex-1.105.1.257-3bc35ab9-x86_64 yesterday 11/25 hoping that that would fix the problem. It did not.
I just discovered that if I drag it along a path from monitor 1 to monitor 3, go below where monitor 1 would end, but back over to monitor 1, the UI does rescale to the right size.
I don’t see a way to attach any pictures, but I’ll include a link to a Google Photos album where I’ve put illustrative screenshots:
