[BUG REPORT] 1.15.2.793 breaks chapter image generation when media is added

Steps to reproduce…

  1. Install 1.15.2.793 if not the version that’s installed.
  2. Make sure library setting is to generate chapters thumbs when media is added and scheduled tasks.
  3. Add a mkv with embedded chapters.
  4. Look for Plex Media Server\Media\localhost\ hash folders.bundle\Contents\Chapters for item and folder and jpgs will not will be there. You can also just see that chapters images are blank in players. EDIT: I retested after the latest update that didn’t fix this issue and can’t seem to get even blank chapters at all on 1.15.2.793 and 1.15.3.835 so not sure why the chapter times were at least generated on 1.15.2.793.
  5. Remove item and clean bundles.
  6. Uninstall 1.15.2.793.
  7. Install 1.15.1.780 which is last version if I’m not mistaken.
  8. Re-add title and look again for chapter folder/jpgs or view in players and chapters are there.

Tried with a couple of titles and observed same behaviour. Perhaps it’s due to fixing…

I’m seeing the same thing regarding chapters.

I’m also not getting thumbnail generation for Extras. This started happening after the last update.

Observing a related problem. I convert my recording to mkv and then mark the commercials with chapters (I wrote some scripts to do this). Now, the chapters don’t show on the Roku with the latest recordings (older ones still work). The web browser shows the chapters…

I’ve noticed the same issue with both new shows and movies I added in the last week. these files have chapters embedded in them, but aren’t showing up in Plex Media Player.
