[Bug][RESOLVED] Photo slideshows/photostrips don't always show all images in album

I have a Library named ‘Slideshows,’ in which I keep albums of selected photos from various events (trips, locations, etc.). I have an Album for my visit to Iceland in 2014 (192 images).

In Plex Web (3.5.0), I opened the Iceland album and clicked on an image. I noticed at the bottom left it said this was image 5 of 192, which is correct.
I closed the image (clicked the ‘X’ at upper right).
I clicked on a different image. This time, it said it was image 7 of 14, rather than 192.
I clicked on the icon to display the photo strip. The photo strip only showed 14 of the 192 images in the album.

I tried several times to repeat this, so I could nail down specific steps that led to it. But the steps were slightly different each time. Each time, I stopped/restarted the PMS server, reloaded the Plex Web page from the server, then followed the steps above, looking at photos. Sometimes I had to perform the steps 2 or 3 times before the wrong counts started showing up. In one iteration, it happened the first time I opened an image.

This seems to only happen with albums with a large number of images. I don’t know where the tipping point is, but I can’t make this happen in albums with 15 or 20 images. EDIT: Aaand, immediately after I wrote that, it happened in a gallery with 18 images.

I don’t know if this is related, or a separate bug, but in some instances, the photostrip began showing images from other albums in the Slideshows library.

Thanks for the report. You’ve spotted one bug and one feature deficiency  so thanks!

If you open the player and check the ‘related photos’ and then close the player and playback one of the related items, it will incorrectly only playback the related photos. This is the silly bug, and we hope to fix that soon. I’ve raised an issue internally to track.

The feature deficiency is that the current web player will playback the entire library. We’ll be adding select/playback of a single cluster to address this.

Thanks again.

I don’t think I did that, though. What do you mean by '…check the ‘related photos?’ Does this refer to clicking the icon, which shows the related images? If so, then please note that the problem showed up before I did that.

We’re loading the details of those related photos regardless of whether you press (i) - so this was just a way to see which photos trigger the problem. Hope that makes sense!

Not exactly, but as long as you’re looking at it, I’m happy to wait and see what fixes you come up with.

Hello,

In my slideshow with arround 500 pictures only 25 pictures are shown.
It is the same on mobile or on web. No matter which browser I use

PMS docker 1.12.1.4885

Best regards,
Stefan

This behavior is no longer reproducible with the new player.
