Is there a limitation of the amount of photo's shown in a playlist?

After a certain amount of photo’s (I have not counted them) plex jumps back to the first photo. In other words it does not show all photo’s in the playlist
I use Raspberry Pi 2

i suspect that this is a PMS issue, using the Photo screensaver is the same, as same issue with photo playlists on Plex for iOS.
