Bug: Windows HTPC audio problems after patch

There is sound the first few seconds of starting video, then it dissapears, if i change the quality to something and then back to “Original” the sound usually holds until next episode. If paused a few minutes the sound dissapears again, same procedure to get it back.
This started happening 2 days ago, which coincidentally is the same day a new patch is released.

Server Version#: 4.148.0
Player Version#: 1.71.1.346

Which audio codec is used in the played file?
Are there different files with different audio codec affected?

What kind of speaker is connected to the system?

Did you set the sound interface type to HDMI, Optical, or Basic?
If one of the two former, did you activate pass-through?

Is Refresh Rate Switching activated in the settings of Plex HTPC?

MP3 Stereo is the only one i’m fairly certain about now, i think i remember seeing 5.1 surround as well, of course right now it seems to work, so can’t check.

I have a 5.1.2 system connected through HDMI e-ARC.

Refreshrate switching is not activated.

In the settings of Plex HTPC, did you set the sound interface type to HDMI, Optical, or Basic?
If one of the two former, did you activate pass-through?

It was set on “Autoselect Device”.

I have no sound at all with the latest update.

File format EAC3 5.1
My Settings:

  • Exclusive mode
  • Explicitly selecting HDMI output device
  • HDMI mode
  • 5.1 mode
  • No passthrough formats selected
  • 100ms delay configured for every refresh rate
