By folder view for movies

The Xbox One does not seem to have a view by folder for movie collections. Is this going to be added? It is really needed for home video collections.

I agree.

I agree as well - I spent hours trying to organise stuff into folders. I thought even that maybe setting up a TV-style channel may work as you put episodes into folders, right? Nope - Plex wouldn’t even import all the files into a “season” folder; must have something to do with episode names, metadata etc. Eventually I hit the forums and found that nobody yet has got a workaround to put movie files into folders.

But

Plex is aware and is working on it. Here’s a link to their post on the matter (form November 2015) : https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/179089/folder-view-official-answer-and-request-for-use-cases

Hopefully they’ll sort it soon as this is a brilliant app that I’m now using instead of my Western Digital TV Live - which has issues with certain MKV files. For my foldered stuff though (my documentaries, home movies etc.) I’ll still need to use that Western Digital.

That link I posted takes you to the forum for the Folder View thread and you may not go directly to the dev’s post so I’ve copied and pasted it below:

Hey gang, I know there are a handful of threads talking about folder view in the new version of the app, and we’ve been doing our best to respond inline, but I thought it might be helpful to have an official looking thread.
We are currently working on adding a folder view to the new app. I’m sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime, it was one of the more controversial decisions about the launch. If this is a dealbreaker, you can install the old version of the app, now known as Plex Classic, alongside the new version. To install Plex Classic, go to https://owner.roku.com/add/plexclassic
You don’t need to reply here, like I said, we’re already working on it regardless of any replies on this thread. But if you want to reply, we’d be curious to hear some of the reasons that you use folder view instead of the other methods of browsing, filtering, and sorting. I’ll get you started with a few reasons I’ve come across, but we’d love to hear your use case!
Organizing home videos. Absolutely, makes perfect sense.
Organizing content that doesn’t have a good metadata source. For example, exercise videos.
Organizing by genre, especially for music. The genre is the top level directory, and then how do you organize things beneath that?
Organizing by collection. For example, maybe you have a mostly flat directory of movies, but you’ve grouped all of the Star Wars movies in a subdirectory, Die Hard in another, etc.
