There has been such a huge flurry of development updates on Plexamp and now Caldera in the past few weeks and it is awesome. Caldera has been an absolute breath of fresh air to use on my TV’s sound system,
I’m wondering how difficult it would be to have a Caldera app that could be installed on older/spare Android / Apple phones and tablets? The ability to repurpose those devices as cheap multiroom Caldera clients would be a very cool way to get multiroom running while repurposing old devices that are laying around.
I know Plexamp runs great on these, but it doesn’t function as a remote multiroom client the same way that Caldera does
probably not excessively hard, but could be a bit confusing to have such a minimal app? unless you mean a fuller. mobile app which would be quite a bit of work
Could Headless not have an option to use the video output and just output the Now Playing window, maybe touch supported to with basic controls. Nice and simple.
Syne is a company that started the album artwork but the product didn’t workout, I think it was too ambituous with Wifi type integration.
With 12"/Vinyl Size screens which are around $100, HDMI to PI and Caldera output Full Screen Artwork a similiar effect to the syne could be had:
