Hi all, I am impressed by Caldera so far, but have come across one edge case. I am running Caldera on a Mac Mini with an optical output that is connected to an amp that only accepts 96 kHz or less through optical. I have some files on my Plex server that are 192 kHz.
Is it possible to configure Caldera to only resample above a certain threshold, and keep the original sample rate for everything below 96 kHz?
actually, setting caldera sample rate to “match source” should do it
if i use a usb dac that’s limited to 96 kHz, caldera plays at native sample rate for tracks up to 96 kHz, and higher sample rate tracks get resampled by caldera (a track at 192 kHz, for example, will get resampled to 96 kHz by caldera, and a 176.4 kHz track gets resampled to 88.2 kHz)
@tgp-2 Not really, given this is an optical connection, there isn’t a “handshake” and Caldera doesn’t “know” what the DAC is able to accept, and outputs at whatever the source file sampling rate is. What you say works for an USB DAC.
