Can client provided capabilities be overriden, regardless of what it self reports?

Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349
Player Version#: 9.27.0.2856

My main home client cannot properly handle LPCM surround, nor AAC, nor anything that isn’t dolby. Regardless of what the Nvidia Shield reports, my receiver has no idea what to do with anything that isn’t dolby.

Player: Nvidia Shield.
Audio: WISA SoundSend.
TV: Old LG without aARC. So I have an HD Fury Arcana inbetween.

My work around has been to set the Plex Client to use Audio Passthrough via Optical with AC3 enabled. That “fixes” it, but losing quality across the board isn’t really a fix.

I need a way to override whatever is being reported to PMS so that it will transcode anything not-dolby into… dolby. AC3 is good enough, eAC3 preferably. I’ve tried messing around with client profiles, but per other threads (https://forums.plex.tv/t/plex-server-ignoring-android-custom-profile/803771) these get ignored for some reason and it’s incredibly frustrating.

Is there a way to override that communication? Not even edid trickery with the Arcana can save me; I have spent WEEKS on this. At the end of the day, Plex is the problem (well aside from this receive not supporting PCM properly).
