Can I make plex always transcode audio on just one device/nvidia shield?

Using the most recent version of PSM and the most recent shield plex app as of 03/01/2022 9AM EST.

Basically I have 3 nvidia shields, two hooked up to modern 4k dolby vision/lossless audio supporting avrs, and one hooked up to a 4k tv in my bedroom that is hooked up to an older 1080p avr via arc. When i play a file with dolby digital/dts surround sound it works fine gives me the 5.1 audio i want, but I when i play a video that has flac(which i convert my non atmos/dtsx tracks to to save space)/pcm 5.1 yeah it doesnt work it just gets down mixed(I assume by the shield) to pcm 5.1.

The plex dash shows me as direct playing the flac/pcm 5.1 audio so thats just getting passed to the shield as is. Is there a way I can just make plex transcode the flac audio to dolby digital 5.1 for just that one shield in my bedroom and leave it alone for the other two?

Plex doesn’t offer that level of granularity at the server level.

The decision about what gets transcoded to what is always between the player and the television.

The player inquires what the TV (and/or AVR) can play natively.
Depending on what’s supported determines what the Shield will do and, subsequently, what it will ask the server to do.
