Can I have two servers (one for transcoding and one for direct stream)?

Currently my Mac Mini has been my plex server, but after a rash of failed drives and losing my data and performance issues, I am currently setting up a NAS on my network. What I would like to do is continue to use my Mac Mini (while reading the data off of the NAS) to stream any files that need to be transcoded. Any files that can be directly played, I would like to stream directly from a plex server I can install on my NAS. I do not want to have to manually switch servers, I just want it to work automatically.

I tried looking on the forums and found issues about synching watched status, but nothing around having one server for direct streaming and one for transcoding. Anyone done this or can point me in the right direction?

This is not possible.

You can set up as many servers as you like. But automatically switching servers, depending on whether transcoding is required or not, is not possible.

Look at [Release] UnicornTranscoder, create a Plex Transcoding Cluster

Thank you both. I will have to look into the unicorn project.
