Hi
Wondering if there is an implementation of Rasplex for the Pi that runs as a Linux app rather than a dedicated bootable SD card.
Thanks
John

No, but someone has tried building OpenPHT (Rasplex) for Linux, not much success at the moment, there is a topic running in the OpenPHT section, you might want to keep your eyes on that.
Regards
Thanks again…
Tried to apt-get plexhometheater. but Ubuntu could not find it
I can run plex web in firefox. But the Plex Audio is distorted and inaudible for some reason.
LOL
Had to overclock the Pi just to get watchable video…
Oh and also make a 64gig image SD card with a 8gig swap partition
Cheers

No it won’t, try sudo apt-get install plexhometheater.
That will give you the old PHT not OpenPHT.

LOL
Of course I tried sudo apt-get
LOL
Ubuntu 15.10.04 Mate says package not found
LOL
What would it take to port Rasplex to run as an app under Ubuntu??
It won’t, sorry.

Rasplex is an minimalist OS (OpenElec) with a Raspberry-optimized version of OpenPHT preinstalled.
You could, in theory, run OpenPHT on another OS, but running Rasplex on Ubuntu would be like running iOS as an app under Ubuntu. It doesn’t make sense.
