I use Plex for everything and have the kids set up as a managed user with access to different parts fo the whole server… Is it possible to see a history of what they have watched/listed to and when?
You want PlexPy
Thanks OttoKerner, I’m assuming that is not an official Plex program?
I could not of said it better.
PlexPy is the way to go.

No, it’s a 3rd party app. But you won’t get this kind of functionality within Plex server itself.
PlexPy has a very good reputation, if that’s what you’re concerned about.
Thanks guys (apologies if either of you are female), I’ve just set it all up (with a bit of You Tube help) and my intiial impression is very positive. People are often quick to moan so I like to make a point of saying thank you (especially when its individuals) when using these types of forums as responses can make a huge difference. From a father’s perspective, I’m now a lot happier that I can keep an eye on what the kids are watching.
@ChrisUndery also look into the notification system within Plexpy. It’s very configurable and can send alerts when certain conditions are met.
Might be another way of keeping an eye on the kids…
Actually, as the OP is also a Pass investor, he has the option to set the misnamed “restrictions” for each of the children’s accounts as part of the individual user access. Say you want to limit them to only “G” or “PG” movies/shows. Then you set the sharing “restrictions” to those for each child, and any movie or show that doesn’t have those ratings isn’t even in their library.
You need to work with the tags for individual media items a bit more, but you can always rest easy that they aren’t watching something that you don’t feel appropriate.
But I do second (or third, or whatever it is) the opinion that PlexPy will give you historical tracking, as well as allow you to set up notifications. I get texts with PushBullet any time someone transcodes from my server, for instance. The texts tell me who, what and why it was transcoded.
I like plexpy and I will say Plexivity is easier to set up on a Synology NAS!

Is that a script you have written?
