When playing back recorded TV, I’m unable to skip through commercials without exceeding the buffer. Once I get to about 60 seconds it starts to buffer. I’d like to make it through at least a full commercial set “zip zipping” without buffering. Is there any way to force the player to buffer more?
None that I’m aware of. Plex web is probably the worst way to playback recorded TV (unless it’s been re-encoded to h.264 like the HDHR Extend can).
Have you tried either Plex Media Player or Plex app for desktop (Windows and Mac)? One of those might give you better performance.
I have not tried playback except through Chrome. I’ll try the other methods, or even the Kodi plugin and report back. Are there any metrics on how accurate the commercial skipping is currently? It was pretty bad back when the Live TV support was in beta. Some 30 min shows would end up only 7 minutes. There also didn’t seem to be a way to record a non edited copy alongside either.
