Can I watch Channels from xfinity since I subscribe to them for TV?

Version of Plex Server on my Windows 7 64 bit machine says it is the latest: Version 1.14.1.5488

We get our internet through comcast and have opted for several reasons to keep the limited channels they provide through streaming, although we don’t usually use that service.

We mostly run Roku and use YouTubeTV to watch live and online dvr channels… but lately we have wanted HDTV and see it is available through the xfinity/comcast streaming we have paid for.

How do we get that through our Plex?

When I look for support it says to go to the Channels section… but there is not one in our Plex server or online app.

I try to search for help but there seems to be a difference between web-shows and “TV shows and channels on the web” so it is confusing!

I look for a plugin but that has not yielded much.

So: Why no Channels section in my Plex?
And ultimately, how do we get Streaming channels through Plex from our comcast/xfinity streaming channel authorizations? (The DRM should nto be an issue since we pay and can access through the web these channels.)

Thanx!

I believe what you really need is to see if the channels you wish to have are available as a Roku channel… That’s generally how what you want is done, not though PLEX…

In the PLEX world Channels and Plug-ins are kind of the same thing as Channels could be make available with the use of a third party Plug-in but Plug-ins could be more than that, like something that would keep stats about you server(s)…

Plex doesn’t support streaming channels from Comcast.

Couldn’t you get the SiliconDust HDHomeRun PRIME and get the cable card for the basic channels from Comcast?

I use two HDHomeRun Primes with Comcast and they add to Plex DVR pretty easily. The only channels you won’t get are channels with DRM, but Comcast only puts those on HBO, SHOWTIME, STARZ, and the like.
