Can not change scanner from "Plex Music Scanner" to "Plex Music"

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3616 (Windows Server 2019 Essential)
Player Version#:

Hello, running Plex on W2019k-Essential with PlexPass (Lifetime). Have several music libraries and I want to change the scanner from “Plex Music Scanner” to the new “Plex Music”. Unfortunately I get an error message after “save changes” - Error: “Your chnages could not be saved”-
Any hint is welcome.

Use a web browser without browser add-ins
use a different web browser
use the hosted web app, instead of the local one https://app.plex.tv
reload the web app in the browser (F5), prior to editing the library

Have tried thiswith several browsers (Edge, Firefox) directly on the server and also remotely - unfortunately with no success. I can change same parameters, like “concerts” or “local data”, but changeing the scanner is not possible.

BTW: Have moved my Plex from W2012 to a new W2019-server one week ago. Have copied the “plex directory” under the user to the new server. This worked very well.

Is it perhaps possible, that parts of your Plex data folder are still “owned” by the old user account on the old Windows installation.
And are thus “unmodifiable” for the new Windows user account on the new machine?

Good point. I am pretty sure that I have deleted the old server on plex.tv.
I think, before searching hours and weeks for the reason, I will delete the new one and will install a new plex incl. all the libraries.

This doesn’t play a role here. This is about file access permissions on the NTFS file system, directly on your machine.

No need for the nuclear option. Just shut down the Plex server, then reset the access permissions of all folders, files and subfolders therein to the default.

Will give it a try later today. Thanks in advance.

It works - more or less.
Thanks for the hint.
